A key role of the BDS is in supporting technical development
and dissemination of guidance and best practice on all subjects
relating to dams and reservoirs. This is done through a combination
of events and meetings and through publication of the BDS Journal
"Dams & Reservoirs" and BDS Conference Proceedings.
A database of these publications has been established so that
key articles and documents can be identified and retrieved through

- the Bibliography of British Dams may be accessed here. The Bibliography of British Dams was first published in 1996 and is essentially concerned with dams to which the Reservoirs Act 1975 applies
