BDS have established links with several top universities and our members have given presentations to various undergraduate courses.

Recent and planned presentations include:

  • Ljiljana Spasic-Gril on BDS and on Safety of Usoy Dam at Sheffield University
  • James Penman on Geotechnical aspects of the Upper Thames Reservoir, at Sheffield University
  • David Brown on British Waterways reservoirs
  • Jonathan Hinks on the Social impacts of Dams

Our members represent the full spectrum of the dams and reservoirs industry from research consultants to engineering contractors and consultants, the major water companies, and the Environment Agency. We welcome enquiries on research and development in our industry and will try to assist with work shadowing and placements if appropriate and possible.
